Size Recommendation for Anthem W

I test rode an Anthem last year at a demo show and LOVED it. It was a men's bike, though, and I would imagine it was the small frame, but I really have no way of knowing. What would be the advantage of getting a women's specific (besides the fact that Also...no option to just buy the frame? I'd really rather just buy the frame and build it up to my liking. This would be my primary racing bike and I'd use my old one as a backup at 24 hour races. Thanks for any help.

Hi Carrie--

We have both men’s and women’s Anthems on the demo trailers, so it’s too bad you did not have the chance to ride the Anthem X W.

I think that if you really liked the men’s model then the perfect choice is for you to purchase the Anthem X frameset and build it up to your specifications.  Through your component choices you’ll be able to achieve a much more fine-tuned and ultimately more satisfying end result.

The frame differences on the men’s and women’s Anthems are marginal (you can see the geometry for each frame on giantbicycle.com). They do have different specs, and unfortunately there’s only one women’s model available so the components are mid-range (rather than be able to offer low, mid- and high grade offerings).

I think that for you, someone who already is dialed in in terms of component choices, you are going to make quite a few changes, whether you buy the men’s or women’s version, so the frameset would be the best choice.
