Giant sizing

I currently ride a Giant OCRC1 size M but am looking to change to a women's specific design bike. I'm tall (5'9") with long legs but shorter torso. Giant used to have a sizing chart on its website that would help one know which size Giant frame would be best suited for one's height, but I can't find a similar chart for women's sizing. I tried a large in the alliance series but want to buy a carbon frame. Does the m in the avail advanced work or will it be too small? Why doesn't Giant make the Avail Advanced in a L; Trek and Specialized seem to make their high end carbon WSD frames in large sizes. Our local Giant dealer has been somewhat reluctant to jump on the women's frame bandwagon so it is hard to try one out. I love my OCRC1 and want to stick with Giant if possible. Any suggestions, recommendations?

Thanks.

Susan,

The 2010 Giant catalog has the sizing chart in the back.  It is titled Geometries: pages 154 and 155.
Your bike shop should have a catalog you can take home and a large binder that is kept in the shop.
Perhaps you should compare the geometries in the catalog or binder and then try a appropriate men’s bikes at your bike shop.
I have a Giant TCR CW, a carbon bike, for women in an extra small that I like.  I am 5’2”.  I believe that 5’9” is often considered somewhat short for a man, so perhaps trying the men’s bikes will help you decide if a women’s bike is right for you.  I pray to sort through all the choices.

Cheerfully,
Sallie Ireland

on the women giant bikes there is a sticker on the seat tube at the bottom, by the bottom bracket that post the size of the person Example 5’2to5’9"look for this sticker on the giant frames.
