Women's Cycling Gear

I'm trying to find cycling apparel and most of the LBS just have for men except for cycling shoes. Anyone know of any good websites for women's apparel and gear?

First Road Bike ???

I already have a MTB [Giant Boulder SE] & now I'm looking for a road bike. I've looked at other brands but I don't know anything about the other companies except for Giant so I decided to just stick with what I'm use to. Besides that my LBS recommended Giant in the first place & my MTB is great haven't had a problems yet.

I've posted on bicycling.com asking for advice on entry-level road bikes. Pretty much everyone says a good bike is going to cost me over $1300 which to me is too much. I'm a recreational rider who usually rides solo and don't like going too fast [<25mph is fine by me]. The furtherest I've rode was 46miles during the TD Bike NYC ride.

The Giant Avail 3 looks like a good entry-level bike. Not only that but I like the price $750 & it comes in black. Any advice?

Anyone know of any good bike maintenace bks and shoes? Would like to learn more.

Favorite Shorts?

I'm curious which shorts are your favorite. I am a larger rider training for another century and really need to find some new shorts. Our local dealers are a bit lacking in the women's selection so I need to order online.

I have plenty of tri shorts, but find that they aren't effective past about 50 miles for me.

My First Giant!

Hey everyone... just got my first Giant! Can't stay off it.... I even rode through the rain today! Now I'm looking for some riders in IL.... I would love to have a ride event in my town which hosts a Giant Dealer! Any suggestions?

Can you recommend a bike for me?

Hi, I am 5'3" woman and am close to 250 lbs, really trying to lose weight but haven't been on a bike in 15 years. I remember how I used to love riding my bike as a teenager and want to get back to that.. slowly but steadily. I am most likely to find deserted roads to ride in at first and some well laid trails.

What bike would you recommend for me? I can spend up to $500.

suede dx w and baby seat

I just bought a Suede DX W and the dealer at my location told us that the baby seat does not fit this bike due to the bike seat position, would you be able to confirm this statement? I would think Giant wouldn't make a bike that cannot install a baby seat though. Any suggestion? Thanks!

Went for a Early Mother's Day ride with my Daughter and Son (twins)

My Daughter and Son Will be 5 this next week.
Being a mother of 5 year old children is such a blessing. We rode for about an hour until my little one's got cold. We had such a wonderful morning

What to do

I fell off my bike 2 weeks ago and broke my arm, wrist and hand . I want to ride but can't now does anyone know is there any type of handle bar that will accommodate my cast.

Another bike-suggestion wanted

I've never posted here before, but here goes ! I've been riding my faithful Cypress DX for 3 yrs, and it's been fine, I found out that I really do love cycling -- it had been many years ! -- and now I know I definitely want a bike to ride faster, lighter, longer, more nimble, not the granny-upright position, either! But I don't have thousands of dollars to spend! I like to do rides of 15-50 miles, would do that more often than weekly and plan to go longer rides - like Bike AcrossKansas, down the CA coast, etc not racing, just for the hours and hours of fitness/pleasure on the open road.

I'd love to get your suggestions for a road bike that's "enough" for me, without breaking the bank or, for that matter, without the high-end features/components that really are beyond my level of expertise and, therefore, need.

Need a rack for Suede DX

I love love love my Suede DX except for one thing...it doesn't have a rear rack! I use it to commute, and a rear rack would make it much easier for me to ferry my work clothes, lunch, and so forth to and from work. Giant doesn't seem to sell any that I can add after the fact (they've got one for bikes with disk brakes, which mine doesn't have, and one that does not look like it's configured right for my bike). Anyone else have this situation? Any advice?
